Voorhees College, a historically black college in Denmark, S.C., is graduating its first minority valedictorian in the institution's 112-year history. According to the Charleston Regional Business Journal, ex-employee Gail Hart Johnson filed a $600 000 lawsuit against SC State for wrongfull firing after she "blew the whistle" on the misuse of 2 million dollars worth of federal money by senior school officials.
