The highlight of SC State's Campus Activity board's "Back to school week," a concert featuring Lil Boosie, culminated with in-crowd fighting at the Smith Hammond Middletion Memorial Center.

The Louisiana rapper performed last night (Sept 4.) to a packed audience along with opening acts Marly Mar and Team Iraq.

Freshmen Business Management major, Ereena Ceus said, "It was ok, but it was crowded and hot. Boosie was short, 6-7 songs, and it would have been better if it were longer."

"The performances were good, they kept us entertained, but it was too short; it was very hot, people were smooshed together trying to take pictures, said Freshmen Nursing major, Sherelle Beginniman.

Senior Computer Science major, Samuel Whaley said, "They were nice, Team Iraq was good, Boosie could have done better; he kept stopping."

Whaley also commented about the fighting, "Fights happened between locals; I think concerts like these shouldn't include locals."

The Collegian could not confirm whether or not the fights were indeed between locals, but Campus Activity Board President, Brandon Davis confirmed that he was aware that fighting occurred, and also said that his organization is currently trying to increase their membership so that more "foot soldiers," will be available to ensure safety.

Campus Activity Week will culminate with Buckin' on Buckley Block Party at 9pm Sept 5, and SC State's vs. Benedict Tigers on Sept 6 at 6:00pm

Staff writer Lavantai Wynn also contributed to this report.
