SC State Volleyball Falls to Bradley at Radford University Tournament

Radford, Va.-The SC State women's volleyball team fell to Bradley, 3-1, (25-22, 15-25, 21-25, 15-25), in its opening game of the Radford University Tournament. The tournament, which concludes on Saturday, is being contested at the Dedmon Center on the campus of Radford University.

After winning the first set, SC State (0-5), dropped the next three sets of the match to fall 3-1 to Bradley. Despite the loss, the Lady Bulldogs had a balanced attack led by senior Brittany Davis (Myrtle Beach, SC/Socastee HS) with 10 kills, one block solo and two block assists. Redshirt-freshman Melissa Robinson (Tallahassee, FL / Florida High) put down eight kills with 12 digs while sophomore Peri Ligons (Austin, TX / Connally HS) had eight kills with seven digs in the loss. Sophomore Bria Brimmer (Austin, TX / Connally HS) controlled the floor for the Lady Bulldogs with 29 assists and six kills.

Bradley's Alise Tupuritis led all attackers with 15 kills and Skylar Lesan had nine digs in the victory.

SC State will close out tournament play Saturday, Sept. 5, when they face Western Carolina at 9 a.m. and host Radford at 2:30 p.m.
