I do not understand the cause of this supposed 'homosexual explosion' of this generation. Why is it that in today's world there seems to be more homosexual African American males than ever before? Are we as a black community becoming more liberal or are our morals declining?

Am I overestimating this apparent 'state of gayness' of black males in America because my views have been tainted by only experiencing Prince Georges County, MD and Orangeburg, SC? Or are the numbers of gay Negro males steadily increasing nationwide? Why is this spontaneous homosexual eruption effecting the younger black males more than the older black ones?

My questions about this topic are numerous because I believe that this is one facet of the black community that is holding us back. Homosexual black males seem to have permeated the church unlike in the past. I do not believe that all Negro males associated with the black church are gay, the overwhelming majority of them are not, just a higher percentage of them are. Church choirs are becoming filled with black males who exuberate feminine qualities and the black church appears to hold strong in their support for them. I am not saying that the church should not support gay black males; they need to be supporting the individual, not the behavior of the individual. Read Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:27, and 1 Corinthians 6:9 to dispel any myths about the church's view of homosexuality.

I also believe that this atmosphere of open gayness has affected the subconscious of heterosexual black males. Two examples: first, no male should be wearing jeans tight enough to see the imprint of his kneecaps, but unfortunately that is the style. Second, every other line from a black male's lips is 'no homo' this and 'no homo' that. Why are black males saying things that they suspect to be mildly gay in the first place? Where has this 'no homo' term come from? Are straight black males are so scared to be labeled as a homosexual that the phrase 'no homo' represents a verbal shield that protects their comments from being viewed as gay?

Another aspect of Negro male gayness that I observed is it's impact on our African American female community. My belief is that black males are the head of the community, and their behavior has a trickle down effect to the rest of the black community. This can be given as an explanation to the increase in black lesbians. Many black females think that the pool of good (and heterosexual) black males are rapidly declining, so they turn to each other for sexual satisfaction and emotional comfort. That can explain why some black lesbians mimic (some with great accuracy) the image and behavior of black males, and the other black lesbians retain their feminine qualities. But my major question is: Why is it that with Negro lesbian relationships there is one female who possesses masculine qualities and the other with feminine qualities, but with black gay male relationships both of them are permeated femininity? Why is that?

Personally I do not dislike black males; I do not dislike anyone. I do hate their behavior though. I despise the homosexual mindset. Again, I will repeat this for clarity because the understanding of this is crucial (and because people like to misconstrue statements). Anthony Brooking does not dislike anyone, Anthony Brooking just hates the behavior of individuals, it is very important to distinguish between the two.

This "article" breeds ignorance and just plan pointless. I rather the "homosexual mindset" over the plain misuse of internet space.

This is one of the most poorly researched "articles" I have ever seen. There has been no "explosion" in homosexuality within any ethnic group; rates of openly declared homosexuality correlate very closely to the increase in population over time. (Continued…)
