Just over an hour following the NFL Draft, the duo was in the process of finalizing free agent contracts with NFC South teams Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons. The Charleston native Young inked a deal with the Panthers, while the Williston-Elko grad Bush will compete for a roster spot with the Falcons.
Young SC State's career leader in receptions (135) and receiving yards (2,156) led a high powered offense in receiving and led the Bulldogs to back-to-back conference titles. This past season, Young broke Monte Stokes' school single season record for receiving yards (995) to go with 65 catches and nine touchdown receptions in earning All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference first-team honors.
Bush saw his NFL stock rise following the Bulldogs' Pro Day on March 31, at which he ran a 4.4 40-yard dash. He also said the Falcons were impressed with his versatility in the secondary as a coverman and safety. The team's fourth leading tackler this season with 54 also earned Defensive MVP honors selected by his coaches.
